Where can we get married? / Does it have to be "private property"?/ Can we just book a venue?

You can get married anywhere, or mostly anywhere, you want! We suggest your own backyard, patio, or indoor space - or a family member's or friend's.
This service is specifically designed to be easy for you to get married at home, while providing you a bit of professional help.

It does need to be private property, otherwise you would have to rent the space like you would for any other social event. If you are married at home, it saves you quite a bit of money!

You can totally get married at a "regular" venue or space, and if you need us to secure that for you, drop us a note and we can add that service to your package.

In an effort to keep the process streamlined and easy for you, we will book all of your vendors for your chosen services. We draw from our extensive list of Birmingham wedding pros - all the vendors that we will use for this service are some that you see us using for Tiny Weddings!
Send us a note if you do have a vendor request, and we will see if we can accommodate it.

Is an officiant included?

No - in short, because the laws have changed in Alabama about needing a licensed officiant to perform ceremonies! This means that anyone special to you may facilitate or "perform" your wedding ceremony - your own minister or priest, a friend, or family member...perfect for an elopement!

If you need more information on what is required for a legal marriage visit Jefferson County's site HERE. Requirements in other counties will be similar, so search your home county's website. The main legal requirement is a notary public to notarize your marriage form, and you can find notary publics with most banking institutions.

If you do need an officiant, our Tiny Weddings officiant may be available, so drop us a note about it!
